Sportissimi Marketplace-Integration
Automated marketplace integration & catalog optimization
We implemented a complete omnichannel extension for Sportissimi and successfully integrated two new marketplaces: Kaufland Marketplace and OTTO Market, including a deep technical connection to Amazon FBA fulfillment.
The project aimed to create a unified, scalable, and automated product management system by optimizing catalogs, developing new properties, and correctly mapping all items.
By migrating to a structured database, implementing automated synchronization processes, and consolidating product attributes, we have created transparency, efficiency, and independence from external tools.
The result is a powerful, self-managed marketplace ecosystem that provides up-to-date inventory at all times, automates FBA shipping, and minimizes manual effort.
Technology stack
Customer challenge
- Inconsistent product data: Many items had different or incomplete data, making automated marketplace integration virtually impossible.
- Complex marketplace requirements: Kaufland and OTTO use their own categories and mandatory attributes that were not correctly represented in the existing system.
- Missing sport-specific properties: Important attributes such as material, area of use, size or season were not structured uniformly.
- No automatic synchronization: Stock levels, variants and prices were not automatically synchronized, leading to errors and inconsistencies.
- No FBA integration: Amazon FBA was not linked to the marketplaces, which meant orders had to be processed manually.
Our approach
- Comprehensive system analysis: Analysis of all product data, categories and attributes to find inconsistencies and clearly derive the technical requirements of the marketplaces.
- Catalog and property engineering: Creation of new sport-specific properties and development of a uniform data structure for all product groups.
-
Marketplace mapping: Development of a precise mapping for Kaufland and OTTO that covers all categories and mandatory attributes.
- Kaufland: Assignment of all categories, attributes and media requirements.
- OTTO Market: Implementation of the more complex variant structure and mandatory fields.
-
FBA Integration & Automation: Automatic connection of all marketplace orders with Amazon FBA for a seamless fulfillment workflow.
- Inventory reconciliation: Automatic transfer of FBA inventory.
- Order processing: Shipping and tracking data are automatically synchronized.
- Error handling: API feedback and validations are processed automatically.
Project overview
Marketplace-Integration Kaufland & OTTO
The two marketplaces have been fully connected and technically integrated. All products have been correctly categorized, assigned the necessary attributes, and validated. The listings are now updated automatically, ensuring that Sportissimi always provides current and complete data.
Amazon FBA Automation
The entire shipping process has been integrated with Amazon FBA. Inventory, tracking, and shipping confirmations are automatically synchronized. This allows marketplace orders to run completely in the background—without any manual intervention.
Catalog optimization
Product information has been expanded to include all sport-specific characteristics, such as size, material, intended use, and variants. This structured database enables precise assignment to Kaufland and OTTO categories and improves visibility.
Automatic synchronization
Price, stock, and product information are continuously synchronized. This prevents errors, reduces inconsistencies, and significantly minimizes daily workload.
Scalable setup
The system was designed to allow for the rapid integration of additional marketplaces. Sportissimi now boasts a robust, flexible, and future-proof omnichannel infrastructure.
